There is an increase in the customer demand for safe food. This has lead food processing companies to develop food safety management systems, which are based on HACCP.
ISO has undertaken the development of an auditable standard, which further defines HACCP's role in a food safety management system.
This ISO 22000 standard is not intended to define the minimal regulatory requirement, however, it is intended to define the requirements for companies that desire to exceed the regulatory requirements for food safety. The ISO 22000 consultancy program is developed companies towards an established ISO 22000 system, and subsequently to attain ISO 22000 certification.
The program is structured to include the review of compliance towards the ISO 22000 requirements, procedures drafting, and setting up of system. The program is customized and scheduled to suit the availability of the company
